Duran Duran slipper sitt sekstende album

Utgangspunktet for plata har vært en spesiell opptreden Duran Duran filmet i Las Vegas 31. oktober i fjor. Danse Macabre beskrives i presseskrivet som et Halloween-album:

" -That evening inspired us to explore further and to make an album, using Halloween as the key theme. The record metamorphosed through a pure, organic process, and not only was it made faster than anything since our debut album, it has also resulted in something none of us could have ever predicted. Emotion, mood, style and attitude have always been at the heart of Duran Duran’s DNA, we search for light in the darkness and darkness in the light, and I feel we have somehow managed to capture the essence of all of that in his project.” , sier keyboardist Nick Rhodes.

I tillegg til nye låter kan fansen også glede seg til å høre Duran Duran gjør covere av Billie Eilishs ‘Bury A Friend’, Talking Heads' ‘Psycho Killer’ (feat. Victoria De Angelis of Måneskin), The Rolling Stones’ ‘Paint It Black’, Rick James-inspirerte ‘Super Lonely Freak’, Siouxsie and the Banshees’ ‘Spellbound’, Cerrones ‘Supernature’, og The Specials’ ‘Ghost Town’.

Danse Macabre følger i kjølevannet av at Duran Duran ble innlemmet i Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame i 2022. Dette var prikken over i'en i et år der de også solgte ut Londons Hyde Park, samt at de opptrådde ved Dronningens platinumjubileumskonsert ved Buckingham Palace, pluss at de avsluttet åpningsseremonien for The Commonwealth Games i deres hjemby Birmingham. Deres headliner-turne i Nord-America inkluderte også utsolgte konserter i New Yorks Madison Square Garden, og tre kvelder i Hollywood Bowl.
