Når instrumentglade virtuoser skal vise seg frem på YouTube er det kanskje mest vanlig at det er gitaristene som dominerer. Frem til nå, altså. For nå har endelig noen gitt rytmeseksjonen litt velfortjent oppmerksomhet, ikke minst med tanke på hvilken viktig ingrediens bassen og trommene har vært i den moderne musikkhistorien.

I denne artige videoen, som ble publisert på YouTube-kanalen til instrumentbutikken Chicago Music Exchange i går, er bassist Marc Najjar og trommis Nate Bauman (bildet) dine guider inn i popen og rockens historie. Og det i form av de 100 viktigste, kuleste og mest engasjerende basslinjene og trommebitene fra 50-tallet og frem til i dag.

Fra Fats Domino og Charles Mingus, via The Beach Boys, The Rolling Stones og Lou Reed, før vi til slutt ender opp i vår egen nære fortid med låter fra blant andre Daft Punk, Tame Impala og Queens Of The Stone Age. Her er mye dekket!
